Ingredients


2 cups long-grain rice


2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil


2 teaspoons salt


1 quart water





Preparation


Rinse the rice in a colander under cold, running water until the water runs clear. Drain.





Place the rice, oil, salt, and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Allow the rice to boil, uncovered, until almost all of the water has evaporated, 10 to 12 minutes.





Stir the rice, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.





Remove from the heat and fluff with a fork just before serving
Well, since chicken terriyaki can be quite a dominant dish, i would suggest something simple like a japanese rice. here's my mom's:


Chop 1 small oninon.


sautee it in some sesame oil, then add some chopped garlic and ginger.


when onion is softened, turn off heat and set aside.


start cooking the rice


when rice is almost done, but not quite fluffy, ad the onion, garlic and ginger, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, and finish cooking.

If you want to use Asian stickyrice - there is no recipe just how you cook it and what kind you buy. Here is how I make my rice.





First use short grain white rice found in many asian markets or in your asian aisle of your grocery store. I use Kokuho Rose Brand.





I always rinse my rice in cold water first. It helps get some starch off, but you still have it sticky. If you like it really sticky then skip this step.





Use 1 to 1 陆 cups of water to every cup of dried rice. Use your finger tip to measure. The water line above the rice should be a finger tip deep.





Bring up to a boil, put on a lid and lower the heat. Let the rice simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes. Next, remove the pot from the heat and leave the lid on. Let the rice rest and fully absorb the liquid for about five minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.

but i use maui mountain teriyaki sauce on the chicken as a marinade, and on the rice as a sauce. yum. i'm having it right now!





maybe you mean fried rice? i have no idea about that..





but for me, 1.5 cups water in pot, wait for boil, .5 cup white rice, turn to low-medium, cover with vented lid, cook for about 13-15 minutes until you can't see or hear water bubbling, turn off burner. let sit 5 minutes, serve!
lol - you can make Chicken Teriyaki, but you need help with steamed rice?
