Looking for old family recipe. Crockpot Chicken over Biscuits.?

I am looking for a recipe my parents used to make me as a child ... I keep finding similiar recipes but I am a horrible cook, so I am trying to find the exact recipe.

I know my mom cooked a whole chicken in a crockpot first for several hours. Later the chicken was taken out and shredded and put back in, peas were the only vegetable. Salt and Pepper the only spices I remember ... It made a nice thick chicken broth with peas. We had it served over biscuits.

I remember it having very few ingredients, the mains ones being the chicken, peas, and biscuits.

Thanks for the help!Looking for old family recipe. Crockpot Chicken over Biscuits.?
This is a basic recipe- add veggies as you like:

4 Tablespoons butter

1 Tablespoon vegetable oil

1 onion -- chopped

3 pounds your favorite chicken parts -- cut up

2 cups chicken broth

2 stalks celery

1 tablespoon minced parsley

2 carrots -- peeled, sliced

1 tsp black pepper

Salt to taste

1/2 tsp ground allspice

1 cup dry white wine (optional but really adds a nice taste)

1 can refrigerated biscuits

1/2 cup heavy cream

2 tablespoons flour

In a large skillet, brown onion in butter and oil just until tender, then brown chicken parts and place all in a 6-quart crockpot.

Add remaining ingredients except heavy cream, flour and biscuits. Cook on high 2-1/2 to 3 hours, or on low 5 to 7 hours.

When chicken is done, remove pieces to plate and let cool, then debone. While chicken is cooling, mix flour and cream together, then stir into crockpot. Open biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Drop into crockpot and turn on high. These will need to cook about 30 minutes, until they are firm. Return chicken meat to crockpot after deboning and serve. You can use your own homemade biscuit recipe for canned if you prefer.

YOU CAN ALSO use this recipe, but don't make the bisquit dough if you don't want to..use canned bisquits instead

CROCK POT CHICKEN %26amp; BISCUITS

2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts

3/4 c. all-purpose flour

3/4 c. uncooked oatmeal

2 tsp. baking powder

1/4 c. oil

1/2 c. skim milk

1 egg white

8 oz. frozen peas

1 lg. carrot, shredded

2 c. cold water

1/4 c. all-purpose flour

1 tbsp. dry minced onion

1 tsp. poultry seasoning

2 tsp. chicken bouillon

Cube chicken and brown, using cooking oil spray. While chicken is cooking, mix 3/4 cup flour, oatmeal, baking powder, oil, milk and egg white together (will make a wet biscuit dough). In oiled crock pot, mix cooked chicken, peas and carrot. Reusing pan, heat 1 1/2 cups water, onion, poultry seasoning and bouillon on medium heat. Mix 1/2 cup cold water and 1/4 cup flour together to make a white sauce.

Gradually pour white sauce into water-bouillon mixture, stirring constantly. Continue stirring until mixture forms gravy. Pour gravy over chicken, peas, carrot mixture and slightly stir. Drop biscuit dough in 1/4 cupfuls onto top of crock pot mixture. Cover and leave 1/4 inch vent (so steam can escape). Cook on high 4 to 5 hours, until biscuits are slightly brown.

NOTE: DON'T cook this on low, or the biscuits will not brown. Serves 4. This dish can also be done in the oven. Use a casserole dish and bake 40 minutes at 425 degrees.Looking for old family recipe. Crockpot Chicken over Biscuits.?
